i can't keep quiet

i have been asked numerous times on many message boards not to argue with people about abortion. but it isn't going to happen. when someone begins ranting about the "right" of women to kill their children, i can't keep quiet. i shouldn't, and i won't.

there's a national organization in this country founded to fight for the "right" of grown men to have sex with little boys. suppose you were on a message board, an otherwise "normal" board, where someone began posting that. you wouldn't keep quiet. what if you were shocked to find other posters disagreeing with you? would you shut up for the sake of avoiding controversy, or would you stand up for the right of little boys not to be raped by grown men? even if people called you "mean" and "moralistic," said you were trying to turn america into a "theocracy"? would you agree to disagree?

maybe you think that such opinions will never become mainstream. but who thought 40 years ago that there would be a time when the prevailing opinion among mothers and pregnant women would be that we should not be impeded from killing our own children as long as we have "a good reason."
